Description
I captured this beautiful scene near the Doe Run company. This was near the flooded Mississippi River. They use these tracks of course to transport. Here is a little info about Doe Run in Herculaneum Missouri.Doe Run started life in 1864 as the St. Joseph Lead Company, better known as St. Joe, which started lead mining on a small scale in southeastern Missouri. Despite the isolation and hardships of those days it prospered and in 1892 it started up its smelter in Herculaneum, where all smelting was consolidated in 1920. It was active elsewhere and eventually owned mines (now disposed of) in South America and zinc operations in New York State, USA.[3] It also built up a portfolio of gold mines and prospects, including Chile's largest gold mine, El Indio, which became St. Joe Gold. It was sold in the 1980s and is now part of Barrick Gold.My name is Peggy My passion is Photography of wildlife and nature of all sorts, My Love is for animals, So I combine them both! Peggy, Excellent capture love the serene scene around the tracks and the way the trees form a tunnel made out of nature. The photo has remarkable clarity to it and is so clear. Love the depth to this photo and the details are amazing from the foreground and the background. Excellent image, fav, voted, google and tweet promoted

Lovely image. Love the play of the light yellow leaves on the right side against the dark green on the left. The light reflected on the wet tracks looks like shiny jewels adding to the air of mystery as the tracks disappear around the bend. v/f

Great colours Peggy! The tracks seem to disappear in to the forest which lends this photo an air of mystery and a need to explore. v
