I capture this wildflower right before it bloomed. The grow all long the side of the roads were I live. They have the most beautiful pink blooms. I added a little texture to bring out the pink in the middle of the flower. This is a thistle wildflower. some fun facts are ,Thistle is the old English name - essentially the same in all kindred languages - for a large family of plants occurring chiefly in Europe and Asia, of which we have fourteen species in Great Britain, arranged under the botanical groups Carduus, Carlina, Onopordon and Carbenia, or Cni.It can be a problem out of control weed.Musk thistle reproduces only by seed. The likelihood of new infestations will be reduced by any action to prevent the production and movement of seed. Planting weed free seed, feeding hay free of musk thistle seed and cleaning equipment before leaving infested areas are methods which will prevent the spread of musk thistle. Please check out my other macro flowers.http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/pe...

Born and raised in Missouri, I love the woods and the endless possibilities of beauty in the rolling mountains of the Ozark Foot Hills. Outgoing and tenacious ,I put my heart and soul into my photography and everything I do! . I currently learning to do some art work in addition to my photography.
